A San Ramon Valley Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician prepares to perform a helicopter rescue. (CHP Golden Gate Division)DANVILLE, CA — The California Highway Patrol, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, and California State Parks worked together to rescue a 19-year-old hiker who fell 30-60 feet in Mt. Diablo.At around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, CHP's H-30 hovered above Sentinel Rock on Mt. Diablo, where the hiker had fallen and sustained major injuries. A San Ramon Valley Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician was lowered from the helicopter, while crews from Valley Fire and State Parks helped rescue the victim.
